On a wet and very windy Sunday morning at Cheslyn Hay, Wyrley Juniors Warriors faced two games against Old Wulfrunians and Sedgley Scorpions West.

We starting our first game well battling the conditions, competing for every ball, great also to have the ever dependable Lewis back today after his illness last week, back in business like he was never away.

Unfortunately our early momentum was interrupted as the brave Hayden competing for a 50/50 ball took a massive knock and needed to be replaced by Harry, who then worked his socks off covering every inch of the pitch.

As a team we struggled to get going again, Old Wulfrunians then started to show their physical side with Isaac taking a couple of big knocks too, the blustery conditions had a big effect on our passing game today and some of the resulting waywood passes fell nicely for the opposition.

After a quick change of pitches we started our second game much brighter against Sedgley Scorpions we got our sharpness and urgency back, after an opening end to end first couple of minutes in a close game Jack broke the deadlock with a sweet right foot strike after a great run. Our mint passing was back with some lovely moves between Jake, Isaac and Lewis, solid defending from Carter and Alfie and a class display by the fully recovered Hayden in goal making a double save late in the 1st half. We started the 2nd half were we left off, with the prolific Cole who has an eye for goal grabbing a brace.

As always we all had loads of fun today, check out our funny faces!
