Wyrley Juniors 2-2 Newport Town

The Mens 1st team continued their pre-season schedule with another promising performance against a Newport Town side who won the treble last year.

Wyrley took the lead early on in the game when Danny Dolman scored a well executed chip from 30 yards before Newport Town equalised just before half time. Wyrley again took the lead on 70 minutes when new signing Wayne Durnall pounced on an error in the Newport defence before coolly rounding the keeper and slotting home. Newport responded quickly to this and equalised for the second time a couple of minutes later.

This was again an excellent display by all involved and we are already looking forward to the next friendly on Saturday away to Lea Hall from the South Staffs County League.
