A resounding victory for Wyrley against top of the league Castle saw them leapfrog Castle to themselves go joint top of the league.
Matt Moseley will be pleased he came through a pre-match fitness test as he ran riot in the first half scoring all 4 goals. After both Kneller & Moseley missed a chance each, a neat built up down the right wing finished with the ball being played back to Dan Bourke who took his time before crossing superbly for the mighty Moseley to fire a bullet header past the keeper.
The second & fourth goals were gifts off the keeper as the sharp Moseley was able to benefit from sloppy defensive play with the keeper clearing against Moseley on both occasions for him to tap into an empty net. Moseley’s hatrick cam when Wyrley keeper Goddard kicked down the left, over Luke Shail, for Moseley to run on, advance into the area and slot into the far corner.
Half Time 4-0
Wyrley immediately increased their lead earning a corner straight from kick-off. Josh Griffiths took it and fired into the near post for Josh Bradley to divert, without realising, into the net for his first of the season. The half proceeded with Wyrley always in control but to their credit, Castle never gave up & had plenty of possession themselves without threatening the Wyrley goal. This thanks largely to the commanding back four of Bourke, Bradley, Gunn & Higgs but the whole team contributed to keeping a clean sheet.
The final goal came when the excellent Josh Rollason played the ball into the feet of Griffiths, who laid the ball into the path of Luke Shail to score low at the near post.
