Dragons played Hednesford Town in their last game before the Christmas break and were looking to end the year with a win.

Dragons started the game well and battled to try and take control of the game but Hednesford were not rolling over that easy and Nathan had to pull off some fine saves early on Hednesford started to get the upper hand. Dragons responded well with Carl and Ewan winning the ball in midfield and feeding the ball to Cirean W only for him to hit ball straight at Hednesfords keeper. The game opened up and Tom F, Brandon, Dom and Liam H in defence worked hard catching Hednesford in their offside trap whilst at the other end Liam R and Kieran S tried hard to open the scoring. It was Hednesford that made the break through scoring twice in the remaining minutes of the first half.

Half Time 0 – 2.

All fired up for the second half Dragons came out and really took the game to Hednesford, pushing them more and more into their own half closing them down and not letting them play. As Dragons started to pass the ball then the chances also started to come with some useful through balls being played through to Tom H and Ryan on the wings who both went close to scoring just shooting wide. Dragons first goal came from Kieran S who struck the ball really well from just inside the half way line, looping the ball above everyone’s head, sending it straight into the back of the net. As Dragons confidence grew they put Hednesford under more and more pressure and scored once again as Tom H deservedly got on the score sheet has he went one on one with the keeper to slot the ball into the goal. Hednesford fought back and was awarded a free kick with minutes to go just outside the Penalty Box, the free kick was struck sweetly and there was nothing that Nathan could do as it ducked under his cross bar.

Full Time 2 – 3.
