WYRLEY JUNIORS GIRLS U16’s

WYRLEY 4 V ERDINGTON 1

After a diffcult last few weeks, Wyrley got back to winning ways in some style and deservedly so. The first half hour of the game saw Wyrley struggle a little playing against the wind, Erdington started well and had a couple of skillful strong running girls which were more than a handful with the ball at their feet. Erdington broke the deadlock with a well taken goal 10 minutes before half time, however the last five minutes of the half Wyrley began to put some passes together, A great ball by Hayley Leese found Abi Hall in full flow, a first touch and shot into the far corner of the net brought Wyrley level just before half time. The second half became very one sided Wyrley penning Erdington back in their own half for long periods, Lizzie Scoines was inspired in centre mid and Danni Biggs, Chloe Coldicott and Alicia Baker were always a threat going forward. Wyrley also defended well when they needed to and always first to the ball, Alicia Baker put Wyrley in front smashing the ball home after a poor clearance from the keeper, Hall fed Coldicott who put Wyrley 3 up a minute later, and Baker completed the win with another great strike from the edge of the box.

Well done girls great team spirit particularly in the second half, nice to see you back to winning ways.
