The Lions shook off the disappointment of the previous game and again started the the game brightly. A corner taken by Joshua Guest dropped to Connor Byrne whose shot took an unlucky deflection. Charlie Smith then showed some excellent running and had a shot that went just wide. Charlie Smith and Joshua Guest involved in some good wing play, with a cross, come shot just that was just missed by the late run of George Bicknell at the far post. The Lions pressured the Saints goal but couldn’t get the breakthrough which they deserved. The defence played well, nullifying any Saints forward play and a smart tackle by Charlie Smith in his own area typifying a solid team performance. Once again the Lions finished the game on a high with everyone giving their all. At the final whistle a well deserved Man-Of-The-Match award went to Charlie Smith.
