LICHFIELD JUNIOR YOUTH  U11’s division 3 MATCH REPORT 04/12/11

WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED 3 v BEACON COLTS 2

Wyrley started the game brightly and put Beacon under pressure, this was due to the hard work and effort of all the united players right across the pitch. Elliot Crook was a threat going forward and Louie Parish was once again excellent leading the line, However the ball broke for United on the edge of the box and fell to Louie’s strike partner Tom Wheeldon whose goalbound effort found the corner of the net to put united 1 up. United forced several corners and were unlucky not to profit from Crook’s brilliant deliveries. The second half and United continued to dominate, Parish forced a fine save from the keeper, then finally after immense pressure Wheeldon doubled his and United’s tally from just inside the box. Tom Peacock and Jake Higgins worked hard for united in the middle of the park and United continued to press and had a number of half chances which went begging.  Sam Foreman hit United’s third from the edge of the box. Cruising to what seemed a comfortable victory, United took their foot of the gas a little and allowed Beacon a lifeline, an excellent shot from 20 yards finding the corner of the net, in injury time man of the match Tom Rowlands kept Beacon out with an excellent block however Beacon with their tails up got yet another goal back just before the final whistle.

Well done lads great performance and a well deserved 3 points. We defended well during the match and credit to Jack, Alex, Tom, Jake, Josh, David and Damo for their efforts, also well done Kieron and Chase for a much improved performance in midfield.
