Fresh from a confidence building performance against Portabello the Lions carried on where they left off with an excellent start against Creswell Tigers. The Lions were again dominating pocession and passing their way around the opposition. Richard Sutton and Ella Spears were working well together up front to create a number of chances. Owen Lloyd was the rock in the defence that allowed Charlie Smith to support George Bicknell and Ryan Wood in midfield.
Cresswell scored after Josh Guest saved the first shot and the rebound fell to a Cresswell player to smash home. The Lions immediately responded with a good through ball from Charlie Smith to Richard Sutton, Richard held his nerve to chip the ball over the on coming Cresswell goalkeeper.
The Lions pressed for another goal only to be denied by a number of good saves by the Cresswell goalkeeper.
The performance and result represented a massive improvement for the Lions. Keep going lads the results will follow if this improvement is maintained. Man of the match Ella Spears with Owen Lloyd coming a close second. Well done to Josh Guest for performing really well as the stand in goal keeper.
