LICHFIELD JUNIOR YOUTH LEAGUE DIVISION 4 SHIELD MATCH REPORT 9/12/12
WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED 2 v 4 CANNOCKTOWN
United started well in this game and went 1-0 up soon after the kick off, a near post corner from man of the match Liam Morley taking a deflection off an unlucky Cannock defender, Wyrley continued to put pressure on the Cannock goal for the first period of this game, during this time 2 or 3 good chances weren’t taken and United were made to pay later in the game as a consequence of this, Cannock got level shortly before half time, with a good finish from the edge of the box. United took the lead in the second half when Kieran Thomas finished well from the edge of the box, but Cannock replied shortly after when a fine free-kick went in off the far post. Cannock rallied and capitalised on a couple of United mistakes to go in front by 2 goals, unfortunately United were unable to come back from this, however Louie Parish was unlucky when his shot hit the cross bar and was cleared from danger.
