LICHFIELD JUNIOR YOUTH LEAGUE DIVISION 4 SHIELD
MATCH REPORT 17/03/13
WYRLEY JUNIORS JAGUARS 3 v 0 WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED
A Wyrley spectacular was on the cards and both teams contributed in making this a well contested game, However Jags started very much the brighter of the two teams and United sat back a little from the kick off, Jags tore down the middle of the pitch and a fine run saw the Jaguars take the lead. After that slow start United woke up and probably had their best spell of the game, keeping the Jags on the back foot, but were mainly restricted to shots from distance which didn’t ask enough questions of the more than competent Jags keeper. Jags however are a well drilled outfit and provided a threat on the break, they got the second goal when a great through ball was pushed nicely in front of their striker who calmly found the corner of the net. The second half and United continued to compete well, both teams had half chances but neither could find enough accuracy on their finishing, Jags keeper made a great save from a United free-kick, then after a pretty even second half Jags put the game beyond doubt when a direct run and shot gave the Jags the killer third goal. Kieran Thomas was United’s man of the match.
Unlucky United you competed excellently during this game.
