First round of the league cup and Wyrley were hoping to progress through to next round without too many problems.  Wyrley started well and had several shots, both on and off target, in the opening 10 mins.  17 mins nice passing build up was rewarded by a scrappy goal by Kelly I after pinball in the box.  18 mins Bridgnorth kicked off, lost possession to Leanne, who raced down the wing and crossed to Sophie to slot home 2-0.  Bridgnorth rallied and started to probe Wyrleys defense of Jody, Cath, Ash and Kelly H.  Lauren had a few long hopeful balls bounce up at her but handled them safely.  26 mins Shelly chased the ball down the right, held of the defender and sent in a superb cross for Sophie to smash home 3-0.  Midfielders Shelly, Emily, Tash and Leanne were passing the ball about with ease at times.  30 mins Cath to Tash to Kelly I to Sophie, who turned and shot pased the keeper 4-0.  42 mins Shelly down the wing again crossed a wonderful ball for Sophie to left foot it passed the keeper 5-0.  45 mins Bridgnorth were rewarded with a fine drive from the edge of the box 5-1.

After the sweety break, sorry half time, Wyrley started as they had the first half with some great 1 touch football.  Bridgnorth were unable to get hold of the ball at times and were looking frustrated with the ease that Wyrley were pulling them apart.  53 mins Leanne was rewarded, after having several shots smothered by the keeper, when she pushed the ball out of the keepers reach into the net 6-1.  64 mins Shelly with another great run down the wing, pinpoint cross for Sophie to side foot home for her 4th 7-1. 70 mins Kelly H bought the ball out of defense, Sophie crossed to Leanne who generously gave the ball back to Kelly H to slot home 8-1.  Kelly I made way for Vikki, Emily was replaced by Hayley Butler and Shelly came off for Hayley Turner, welcome aboard ladies.  75 mins A mix up in defense gifted Bridgnorth their 2nd 8-2.  77  mins Ash was judged to have bought down the player in the box, bit harsh i thought, up stepped their forward hit the ball to Laurens left, Lauren dived and saved the penalty.  Well done Loz, 50% record on penalties.  83 mins not sure what Wyrley were doing but Bridgnorth scored 8-3.  85 mins Hayley T with a battling performance managed to send in a brilliant ball for Leanne to hit her 3rd 9-3.  86 mins Tash curled 1 in from the left hand edge of the box into the top right 10-3.

It was a pleasure to watch you play today, not for the scorline but for the way you ALL played.  Well done more of the same next week.  Kelly Highman please dont stay away to long but good luck at Cardiff Uni.  Good Luck for Leanne and Jody who are going to Wolverhampton Uni and Ash to Birmingham Uni, just remember girls you are Wyrley Ladies F.C before any other team.
