Back to winning ways

The game started uneasily as Wolves were on the back foot for the first five minutes. Not for long though as the boys started to find their feet and defender Jimmy made a good start winning and passing the ball up the wing from defence on several occasions. The first goal came about 20 minutes through the half when Simo received the ball from a throw in from Shamar and put in a cross to Kane who was quick to score.

Wyrley Lions took their chance to equalise shortly after but a corner from Simo pinballed around in the box before a jubilant Kane scored his second goal of the day from the back-post. It really was his day today as from inside our own half Kane started a run of excellent passing involving Jourdan; Nick; Jordan and finishing with striker Kyle scoring our third goal from the edge of the area.

In the second half the boys seemed to be really enjoying their game again, when striker Ben received a great pass from Jimmy and took on the defenders to smash the ball in the net from outside the area. Wyrley Lion’s managed to score again but nothing was going to hold Wyrley Wolves back today as Shamar was to assist in a further  goal with one of his immense throws from near the corner flag, straight to team mate Kyle, who flicked the ball up and over the keeper with his head.

A penalty late on allowed Wyrley Lions to score again but midfielder Jordan scored the final goal of the day when one of Shamar’s throws into the box rebounded out to him in front of goal.

A great team effort from Wyrley Wolves today where every player contributed to a decent result.

Man of the match today: Jordan Morris
