LK09 v Sporting Khalsa

This was a team we hadn’t played before.  Captain for both games was Lewis.   Within the first 20 secs we had at least 3 attempts at the goal so we were fired up from the start.  From a free kick we had secured our first goal courtesy of Tom (W) and a near miss from Matty,  but the next goal went to Khalsa.  Going into the second half it proved to be an exciting  start, when Harvey unfortunately skied it from a chip in but a pass from Matty later to Harvey secured the second goal and win for us.  Subs for the game Tom (M), Finley, Luke and Callum all had a chance to play.

LK09 v Cresswell Wanderers

This was always going to be a tougher match but what we didn’t realise was how exciting it was going to be and how much of the lads fighting spirit and determination would play a big part in the game.  Cresswell had scored the one and only goal of match in the first half but not without a few great saves from Logan.  Even parents of Cresswell had commented on the saves he made.  Keane and Matty had sustained injuries from the Cresswell players which gave them both the determination not to let Cresswell score again.  The defending was fantastic by Harry and Lewis.  Although we had lost the match what we gained in confidence was a far better win for us !
