LK09 v Sedgley Scorpians

The event at Silverdale FC was to consist of three ten minute games with the same team, Sedgley Scorpions.

Captains for the day were Tom (M) and CJ

An early foul on Matty lead to a free kick by Keane to score our first goal. We continued to stay strong and a corner from Tom (M) to Matty scored our second goal.  Keane took another free kick only for Tom (M) to score his first goal.  With superb defending by Lewis, Harry and Tom (M) we prevented any goals being scored by the Scorpions and went into the next ten minutes in a strong winning position.

There were lots of chances by CJ, Tom (W), Luke and Finley but unfortunately we managed to concede two goals and score an own goal which put us back on equal terms with the Scorpions so it was everything to play for in the last ten minutes.  This started off well with an early attempt by Matty so we knew we were back in the game.  We were on the ball all the time and didn’t give up.  This proved valuable as we were in with a high chance of scoring when one of the Scorpion players gave away a penalty  for handball.  The penalty taken by Tom (W) went straight into the back of the net, no problem !  With minutes to go before the final whistle Harvey scored our final goal to give us a fantastic win today.

It was clear that this performance was off the back of the tournament last weekend.  Playing more football together equals a winning team !
