LK09 v Great Barr Harriers

Captain was Logan.  First game of the new season got off to a great start with the lads full of determination.  A run from Matty and an early shot nearly gave us our first goal.  A shot by the Harriers was defended well by Harry (H) and Harvey cleared a corner kick by the Harriers.  Allan (new player to the team) found his feet early on and was shouting for his ball, which was great to see the lads the communicating.  Allan did sustain a bloody nose which left him on the side line for the duration of the game. A corner kick from the Harriers was played straight into the hands of goalie, Logan. All the hard work paid off with a goal from Harvey which was a rebound attempt from Matty.  either way it was going in ! Harriers equalised with a goal from a great set up.  Leading up to half time, Harriers had by now scored another two goals.  The second half we battled on but just couldn’t score anymore goals even though we had more attempts.  It was a fast moving game and the Harriers were a good team to play.

LK09 v Brewood Juniors

This was a slower game and really thought we would have a chance but we just couldn’t score any goals even though Brewood did.  We conceded a free kick with the new rule no pass back to the goalie.  I’m sure this will become second nature the more games we play !  By now we seemed to have lost our spirit but the lads still battled on to the final whistle.  LK09 will continue to train hard and look forward to the challenges this season has install for us !
