Wyrley Panthers v Tipton Youth Friendly Match
The Panthers, having lost their long unbeaten run to Tipton last week held on for a 0-0 draw in this one.
The game was another bruising encounter, which we have come to expect playing against this opposition.
There were not many chances in this game despite some good play by both teams.
The boys can take heart from the way they fronted up more in this game and none more so than Man of the Match Sam ‘Scotty’ Scott who put in a heroic performance at the back.
Well done Lads!
Wyrley Panthers v Four Oaks Friendly Match
Despite the 3-0 scoreline to the Panthers, this was not a walkover against a resolute defence, in some very cold weather, with the pitch not conducive to passing football.
The Panthers took the lead through a vicious strike from the man in red-hot form, Rio Parkes-Mahoney, who treated the crowd to one of his dance moves to celebrate.
The game was on a knife-edge until two late goals from Ben ‘Whizza’ Herrington. Whizza struck both goals with his weaker foot from long-range, proving all the time he spends at training improving his left foot is not going to waste.
Man of the Match was awarded to Whizza for his two special goals.
