Wyrley Panthers under 7,s gave a masterclass performance this morning giving their parents and supporters a truly nail biting game.Panthers played one extended game this morning with 15 minutes each way. Panthers coming out on top winning 3-2 against Shire Oak Colliers.
Panthers kicked off to a great start straight away with Willo beating their attack to lay off a wonderful ball to Richie on the left, Richie attacked towards the goal beating their defence, wrong footing shire oaks keeper into the right bottom corner with a great left foot finish. Joshua and Willo completely bossed the centre and cleared up all attacking play to then counter with some great passing moves. Richie,Ryan and Willo continued to press Shire Oak back, with Willo and Richie winning all battles in midfield; this then led Willo to play a very nice ball to Ryan in space on the right wing. Ryan continued his run being pressed all the way to finish with a cracking right foot into the roof of the net. goalkeeper Lukas produced two first class saves leaving referee full of praise. Panthers continued to press with Joshua,Willo and Ryan coming very close to a third. Fraser came on for Willo letting Joshua push forward and again wyrley linked up extremely well. first half finished with some great defending by Fraser protecting his in form keeper. (half time 2-0 to panthers)
second half kicked off with Willo replacing Joshua and goalkeeper Vinnie replacing Lukas. Shire Oak side changed with some noticeable players coming on and Panthers getting caught out by two well taken goals leaving Vinnie no chance. Panthers kept the heads high and played some great counter attacking. Joshua came back into play coming on for Richie on the left flank, Willo then winning the ball in the centre and then passed to Joshua who continued his run down the left beating two players and scoring a great solo effort. Shire oak were awarded a penalty towards the end of the second half, Vinnie stood brave and produced a great save keeping the score 3-2. Fraser locked up shop after that with all our boys supporting extremely well.

This was Wyrley Panthers last game and what can i say absolutely brilliant it was too, massive thank you to all our boys for all their hard work and commitment throughout their first season. And also thank you to all the parents for their continued support!
