Wyrley Panthers U7’s Match Report 22.04.12

Wyrley Panthers U7’s v Lane Head Panthers Friendly Match

Another couple of outstanding performances from the Panthers carried on their run of only one defeat since Christmas.

The Panthers could have had a hatful of goals in the match against what was a much-improved Lane Head team. The two goals came from man of the match, George Whitehouse, who was playing in the recently created free-role behind Josh Mason. The midfield of Rio Parkes-Mahoney, Louis Beesley and Josh Reynolds battled hard and created opportunities for the two front men.

The boys played some good football throughout and were rarely tested at the back in what became a routine victory, with Lewis ‘the Cat’ Rochelle not having a save to make.

Wyrley Panthers U7’s v Pelsall Villa Colts Friendly Match

The previous encounter between the two teams, only a matter of weeks ago, produced a hard fought draw in which the Colts were probably the more dangerous team. However, this encounter was a one-sided affair in which the Panthers produced some outstanding football.

The parents and coaches were thrilled with what must have been the performance of the season from the lads. They gave everything in a committed display that included moments of individual brilliance, slick passing and ruthless finishing.

Ashton ‘Goals’ Cooper got on the score sheet twice with ice-cool finishes from one-on-one situations. Lucas ‘Tibbsey’ Tibbs got the third. The fourth was a well-deserved finish from the very lively Ben Maginness.

The Panthers created chances galore and were unlucky not to score more with excellent wing play from the two Bens and a strong display from man of the match Lucas ‘Tibbsey’ Tibbs. Sam Scott and George Whitehouse were rarely troubled and brought the ball out nicely from the back. When they were breached Lewis ‘the Cat’ Rochelle made a few excellent, with one in particular from a well-struck free kick.

In the second half, all the cavalry from the bench arrived to give fresh legs and ensure a great squad victory.

Well done on two fabulous displays.

The squad today consisted of: Lewis Rochelle, George Whitehouse, Sam Scott, Josh Mason, Ben Herrington, Lucas Tibbs, Josh Reynolds, Louis Beesley, Ashton Cooper, Rio Parkes-Mahoney and Ben Maginness.
