Hello there Panthers fans a tough day for the panthers at a new pitch and surroundings, but as usual the Panthers put in a bucket load of effort energy and enjoyment, well done lads!
Beechdale
The lads opened with a respectfully observed one minutes silence for the tragic loss of Natasha Whale. To begin, Ryan broke well down the right and won a corner. Ryan took the corner and Ritchie latched onto it well, shot for the keeper to save. Wilson demonstrated some outstanding defending tracking back and saving goals twice early on in the first half. Wyrley couldn’t make some key challenges as the Beechdale number nine skipped through and finished well, to make the score one nil to Beechdale. Ryan then broke through after an excellent run with the goalkeeper to beat but just drifted his shot wide. Ritchie and Frazer worked tirelessly throughout the first half and Lukas made some good clearances off the line. Man of the half was Willo who orchestrated things well in midfield. Vinnie and Joshua came on in the second half and the team continued pressing for the equaliser. A tough challenge lead to a free kick which Beechdale capitalised on to go two up. Wyrley continued pressing but were ultimately frustrated the match finishing two nil to Beechdale.
Ashmore Park
Wyrley started quickly in this match with Joshua passing well in midfield sending Willo through who was unlucky not to score. Ryan, Joshua and in particular Willo really pressed in midfield and Wyrley were unlucky to concede after the ball broke kindly, despite Frazer’s best efforts to tackle, the Ashmore Park player who finished well, one nil Ashmore. Wyrley continued to press heavily for an equaliser with great left wing play and control by Joshua with some good passing and some great direct running by Ryan and Willo. Frazer got his customary head block in too, with Lukas also coming off his line and saving well on occasion. Sadly Wyrley conceded a second, before the goal of the game came from Willo who broke down the right wing beat two players and slammed the ball home, superb stuff. Wyrley continued to press, and a slight misunderstanding lead to a free kick despatched well by “George.” The match finished 3 1 but each Wyrley player gave it there all and got valuable match time on a different and larger playing area ready for next week.
