Wyrley Panthers v Wyrley LK09

The local derby did not disappoint and this was a great game to watch for the neutral!

The Panthers applied the early pressure and were awarded a penalty which was duly dispatched into the corner of the net by Ashton ‘Goals’ Cooper. Although the Panthers had the majority of the possession and pressure, LK09 certainly looked dangerous on the break and had a couple of decent chances from well worked moves but could not get a vital goal.

Fortunately for the Panthers they showed clinical finishing at the other end and made their chances count with further goals coming from Rio Parkes-Mahoney, Ben ‘Whizza’ Herrington and Ashton ‘Goals’ Cooper completing a hat-trick.

This game was a great advert for the Club with great football being played by both sides! Well done Wyrley!

Panthers v Brewood

This was a big game between two great historical rivals in this age group.

However, it was not as close and hard-fought as is normally the case in these games as the panthers came flying out of the blocks with goals from outstanding wingers Ben ‘Whizza’ Herrington and Ben ‘Tank’ Maginness.

Brewood got back into the game albeit for a short period with a goal of their own.

However, this only stung the Panthers back into attack, further goals came from Ashton ‘Goals’ Cooper, an own goal and an absolute screamer from Ben ‘Whizza’ Herrington which was dispatched from around the halfway line.

A great all-round performance from the boys! Man of the matches were awarded to Louis Beesley and Ashton ‘Goals’ Cooper.
