Wyrley Tigers U9’s Match Report 15/09/13

WYRLEY TIGERS Vs PELSALL VILLA COLTS

Tigers started this game with a major change, we decided to let our awesome keeper, Joe T, play in defence, giving Lewis a go between the sticks. Lewis certainly didn’t let the side down; making some world class saves. One particular stand out moment consisted of a dive to the left hand side, completely in the air, pushing the ball out for a corner – awesome stuff. Lewis you did us proud.

Joe T and Scott played brilliantly in defence, only letting Pelsall get a couple of shots off. Pelsall broke the dead lock first with a thunderous shot finding the back of the net. The Tigers kept their spirits up with Kian and Aran playing some splendid football in midfield while Tom and Cole, on the wings kept the pressure on. It wasn’t long before Aran was in the box to receive the ball for a tap in. This was then followed by 3 more superb goals over the next 15 minutes – 4 in all for Aran.

The lads were on fire; some brilliant footwork from Cole saw him hit the woodwork. The ball then fell to Kian, he passed it straight back to Cole and Cole buried the ball in the back of the net.  Pelsall managed to get back into the game and scored their second a little while later.

The boys came together brilliantly, displaying excellent skills and passing the ball like pros.  AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE TIGERS.

WYRLEY TIGERS Vs CRESSWELL COLTS

Joe T was back in goal for this game, displaying his usual superb goal saving ability. Lewis and Iron Man Will were in defence; both playing extremely well and backing each other up. Cresswell were a little unlucky with a shot being saved right on the line. Tigers kept their heads and played some really great football.  Kian and Aran played superbly in midfield, passing the ball round with determination.

Tom was putting cross after cross into the box and taking players on, but Creswells’ defence was hard to breakdown.   A substitution was made, swapping Aran for Armaan and Tom for Scott. The lads finally broke the dead lock after Iron man Will passed the ball to Kian who in-turn made an excellent pass to Cole. Cole then made a superb cross into the box with the ball falling to Armaan who neatly slotted the ball into the back of the net.  A tough game, but a well-deserved victory.

Man of the match was Aran for his 4 superb goals in the first game.   A special mention goes to Lewis for an excellent game in goal. Well done boys.

The season has started well for the Tigers making it 3 wins out of 4 so far. Keep it up lads we’re all very proud of you.
