Wyrley were out to show Cresswell how good a team they are after their narrow defeat to Cresswell two weeks earlier. And how the Tigers delivered. The first half was one way traffic as the Tigers kept Cresswell in their own half with shots coming in from every attack. The longer the first half went on, the more it looked as if the Tigers were never going to score; Kyle, Jacob and Evan all going close but being kept at bay by some last ditch Cresswell defending. The Tigers passing game was a joy to watch and it was great to see the boys working hard for each other and they got their reward in the last minute of the first half as Evan found Ethan in space who then found Kyle who passed first time to Jacob and after a neat one two with Josh Singh Jacob cooly smashed the ball in to make it 1-0 to the Tigers at half time. The second half started as the first ended with Wyrley dominating, every time Cresswell did break forward Finley was on hand to block absolutely everything. A cross from Ryan out wide on the left fell nicely for Ethan but his shot was blocked and the rebound fell to Josh Singh who found the bottom corner of the net with his left foot from the edge of the area. Soon after Wyrley were 3-0 up as Ethan shot from the edge of the area and his shot was deflected in past the helpless Cresswell keeper. Cresswell’s best chance came from a long shot from near halfway which Josh Pritchard dealt with easily and then distributed early to Charlie to set up another Wyrley attack and Charlie found Josh Singh in space but his shot was tipped wide by the Cresswell Keeper. The Tigers second match was against a tall and strong Handsworth team and the Tigers started the game showing them too much respect, by standing off and not getting their tackles in like they did against Cresswell. Josh Pritchard was desperate to stay in goal so he did and made some great saves to keep Handsworth at bay, Jacob and Finley were strong in the tackle and the midfield of Evan, Kyle and Charlie started to dominate the game and feed Ryan with chances to open the scoring but his shot went agonisingly wide of the post. Kyle was working hard to set up attacks but Wyrley were unable to find that final ball to maintain their 100% record against Handsworth. The half time whistle came with the score at 0-0. Josh Singh and Ethan started brightly in the second half and Charlie was breaking up every single Handsworth attack. Wyrley were finding it hard to get their passing game going but as Evan stormed forward with the ball, he played in wide to Ethan who fired in a cross for Evan, whose first two shots were blocked by the keeper and his third effort rebounded off the post. Ryan also went close with a snap shot that clipped the post, Josh Singh and Jacob also went close but were somehow denied. As Wyrley pushed for a winner Handsworth were dangerous on the break but Charlie showed his ability to read the game by making sure every Handsworth attack came to nothing and came away with the ball every single time. Kyle found Ethan in space but the ball just would not go in. With two minutes to go Wyrley threw everyone and everything at Handsworth but got caught twice in the last minute by counter attacks leaving Josh Pritchard with no chance from either of Handsworths two efforts and the game finished Wyrley Tigers 0-2 Handsworth.
