What became an excellent start for the home side with Ella Spears having a good shot well saved and Joshua Guest hitting a low shot just wide, it was the opposition who showed the quality in this game. Owen Lloyd and Connor Byrne tackled well and made good efforts to stop the attacks. George Bicknell was also instrumental with some excellent tackling in the midfield. As the game went on it started to slip away from the Lions, but they continued to push and a cross-come-shot from Joshua Guest and an Ella Spears shot tested the opposing ‘keeper as they tried in vain to get back into the running. Finally a goal straight off the training ground as Ryan Wood mashed a free kick just inside the post for a spectacular consolation. Well done to all.
