Another great start to a game and within no time at all the Lions were a goal to the Good. Ryan Wood off the mark and some reward for persistent running. Ritchie Sutton came close to scoring but the shot was well saved. The Lions were camped in their oppositions half and it wasn’t long before the Lions sored again. Ella Spiers showing some good support play and finishing off a fine. A fine run by George Bicknell set-up another chance only for Ryan Wood to see his shot saved. Josh Guest and Owen Lloyd tidied up anything coming into the Lions half with Connor Byrne contributing to Lions defensive tasks. The second half saw things carry on from where they left off, apart from some sporadic half threats from the Warriors, the Lions continued to dominate. Some good chances went and came and again Ritchie Sutton was involved in some good link up play. Finally the Lions saw their dominance pay Ryan Wood scored his second goal of the game. A smart save from the keeper forced a corner, from which Ella Spiers scored straight from the Kick only for the referee to disallow it as the ball was deemed outside of the corner lines. However, it was only a matter of time before the Lions scored again and it was almost immediately following the disallowed goal. Again a move from the corner led to Ryan Wood scoring for to the Lions and him taking the match ball home – Well done Ryan. A great confidence booster for the team, with the manager highlighting Ella Spiers as having a fantastic game, but giving the whole team the man of the match award for such a great effort. Well done everyone.
