Wyrley Youth U’15’s 2 – 3 Brownhills Community FC

A dissapointing day today for Wryley Youth.

The match started with Brownhills on the attack and really pressuring Wyrley from the off, after 7minutes Brownhills took the lead with a ball over the top which was nicley converted into the bottom corner. Wyrley were still slow to start after conceding, but after a great build Josh Tolley shot, which lobbed the goal keeper, but berfore the ball got to the goal the brownhills captain done a delibrate handball by jumping up and punching the ball away which the referee pointed to the spot and letting the brownhills captain of lightly with a yellow. Keiran Wellington stepped up to slot home his 6th goal of the season by placing it in the bottom right hand corner. Not long after Wyrley scored we were under presure again, brownhills played yet another long ball over the top which left the Brownhills striker one on one with Wryley goalkeeper Jake Edmonds, but to or delight Jake pulled of a comfortable safe. But Wyrley could’nt deal with all the long balls over the top to which in the end Brownhills scored a second goal. Once the game kicked off again Wyrley battled more and defended the long balls, knowingly that Brownhills was going to attempt more now that they scored two from it. Wyrley had a good opportunity when Ben Darby got fouled on the outside of the box and the referee awarded a free-kick, Jack bond stepped up to take it, Jack ran up and smacked it with abit power but Jack hit the crossbar, the referee then blew the whistle for half time, 2-1 to Brownhills at the break.

After the break Wyrley started of better than Brownhills and put them on the back foot, with a lovelly bit of pass and move, Ryan Middleton ran threw to score the equaliser to up his goal tally to 4 for the season. Wyrley kept thier heads up high and battled more to try and gain another win behind thier belts. But with a nice little pass threw the defence from the Brownhills wide man, left the Brownhills striker one-on-one with the Wyrley keeper, Jake (the Wyrley keeper) came out and made a tackle by winning the ball first but also taking the player to the ground, but to our bitter dissapointment the referee gave a penalty to Brownhills, which Brownhills converted and had taken the lead for the 3rd time in the match. Wyrley never gave up the fight and with 5minutes to go the ball was stuck in the Brownhills half. Kieran Wellington came close to scoring a second by hitting a beautiful strike, but to be dissapointed as it hit the post.
