A 5th game in 8 days is a lot to ask of this young ladies team, but they showed tremendous courage and fighting spirit today, blood was spilt and agony endured.  The agony was mainly the travelling supporters.  11 mins Kelly H showed her pace down the wing and sent over a lovely cross to Leanne for a simple tap in 0-1.  A few minutes later Leanne turned provider for Kelly H, only to see Kelly fluff her lines and miss.  16 mins Jody takes throw in to Tash, on to Kelly, who found Leanne in the box to bury it 0-2.  Lauren was called into action on the odd occasion Cottage Farm beat the defenders.  Jody, Kirsty, Cath and Sam held their line well and battled well for every ball.  Chelsea, Tash, Kelly I and Emily tackled hard and out played Cottage on many occasions.  Leanne and Kelly H were provided many balls to chase down and harassed the Cottage defence all game.  Emily sent over some nice corners and Kirsty was unlucky when her header hit the bar.  Kelly H was more than unlucky on numerous occasions (at least 10) not to score, being undone by the keeper most of the time.  Sam showed her ballet skills with a sublime pirouette to confuse the attacking forward.  Lauren was called into action to collect a running ball and grazed her leg as she skidded across the box.  ‘That hurt more than i thought it would’ she screamed as she hopped around the box.

The second half was more of the same from both teams, long range efforts from Cottage who were finding it difficult to breach the Wyrley defence.  Wyrley were finding it hard to finish and once again had numerous chances to add to the score line.  Charlie came on for Cath, Nia for Lauren and Jemma for Chelsea.  71 mins Jemma passed to Kelly H, who put over a great cross for Kelly I to bundle over the line 0-3.  Cottages keeper kept them in the game, collecting high balls and controlling her box well.  Charlie was once again pin point with her crosses, Chelsea with her headers, Tash with her no nonsense tackles.    Nia took a goal kick which unfortunately bobbled up and hit Emily in the face and the second lot of blood was spilt.  Wyrley once again showed grit and determination, and we are proud of your achievement so far, so please keep it up over the next few games.
