After last weeks slow start Wyrley were fast out of the traps today and after just 3 mins were rewarded when Leanne slid a slide rule pass to Sophie who slipped the ball under the cottage farm keeper 1-0.  Some lovely frenetic football was played in the midfield by Chelsea, Tash, Leanne and Vicky, with Wyrley coming out on top and sending Sophie clear to chip the keeper and claim her 2nd 2-0.  The defence of Jody, Kirsty, Cath and Kelly, stood up well to the onslaught by Cottage, until a free kick awarded to cottage 25yards out was drilled into the box and volleyed past the helpless Lauren, 2-1.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Cottage, and they soon levelled the score, when they rounded a stranded Lauren to dribble the ball home 2-2.  This was the downfall of Wyrley who made 2 more defensive errors gifting the game to Cottage with the final score 2-4.  Emily came on for Chelsea and she was unlucky with a scorching strike that hit the post.  Mary replaced Vicky and sent in some excellent corners, that the Cottage keeper, -who seemed to have magnets attracting the ball in her gloves- managed to pluck of every Wyrley head.  Gemma replaced Rachel who battled well for the ball against some strong challenges from Cottage.

The 2nd half this week being a reverse of last week when Wyrley were chasing the game and battled for every ball, this week the maturity of Cottage was their reward. It felt a bit like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, the vociferous parents were still in good voice throughout.
