The Mens 1st Teams season came to a close on Tuesday night with a 3-0 defeat in the League Cup Final against Black Country Rangers. Despite a very spirited performance from Wyrley the better side on the night won and we would like to congratulate Black Country on securing the league and cup double.

Despite this defeat and narrowly missing out on promotion by finishing 3rd in the league, the management team are very proud of the efforts, application and achievements of a very young squad and we are already looking forward to improving on this league position next season.

My thanks go out to to all the players that have featured this season, our loyal fans who have followed us home and away and especially Kim Punter, Paul Baker, Trevor Foster, Mick Denny and Deb Brown for all their help with matters off the field.

We would also like to thank Keith, Trevor, Bill, Nigel and everybody else who turned out to support us on Tuesday evening and all of the WJFC community for all their help throughout the season (especially Matt for providing the mascot kits!).

Thanks for the support!

Phil
