On Sunday October 11th 2009 I am running the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon for the Geoff Thomas Foundation. There are various reasons for this but I guess the main reason is as a result of reading about Geoff Thomas’ remarkable recovery from Leukaemia in 2003. Reading Geoffs autobiography about his struggle to reach fitness to be able to participate in the Tour de France made me think I would like to do something to raise money for this great charity.
In 2003, Geoff Thomas, the ex-England and Crystal Palace footballer was diagnosed with leukaemia. A bone marrow transplant from his sister saved his life. Other blood cancer sufferers aren’t so lucky. They need new state-of-the-art drugs to save their lives and that’s where the Geoff Thomas Foundation is trying to help.
I would really appreciate any donation that you feel you could give to support the Geoff Thomas Foundation.
