The Wyrley Colts u11’s may have been all but edited out of the programme with Chipmunk (the Channel 4 Commissioning Editor for teenage programming said that “the sight of Scott on national television at such an early hour, would not be good for young viewers of a nervous disposition”) but they still put in a battling performance against a very good Silverdale, who eventually emerged victorious at 5-2. However, the scoreline does not tell the full story…. The boys looked out of it very early on, with Silverdale making rampaging attacking runs, and they could have had an early hatfull if it wasn’t for a number of one on one saves by goalkeeper Connor Brimfield. Then, rather than let their heads drop the lads put together a tremendous attacking performance in the second half, with goals from Connor Yates and Sam Holdcroft giving the boys hope, before a late couple of goals for Silverdale finally put the game out of reach. Well done lads and good luck for next week!!!
