ASHMORE PARK RANGERS 2 v 0 WYRLEY TIGERS
Tigers first game of the season was a difficult one against a strong, and determined Ashmore team. The first 10 minutes Ashmore dominated play and deservedly took a 1-0 lead, some good defending from William Meredith and man of the match Tom Peacock preventing Ashmore from taking further advantage during this period. Tigers had a couple of breaks towards the end of the half and were unlucky not to equalise when a Sam Foreman effort was deflected by an Ashmore defender over the crossbar. The second half started similarly to the first one, and an unlucky Harry Simkin was beaten by a shot from distance for Ashmore’s second goal. Wyrley worked hard for the rest of the game without any reward.
WYRLEY TIGERS 3 v 1 SHIRE OAK SAINTS
Tigers improved on their previous game and started to put some passes together, Ben Southall ran clear after being found by man of the match William Meredith and calmly placed his shot into the corner of the net. Tigers continued to press and a firm shot by Duncan Reilly put Tigers 2 up. Shire Oak came back in the second half a managed to get a goal back, Tigers worked hard for the last part of this game and there was some good passing from Tom Laxton, Sam Foreman and Elliot Crook, and a quick throw from Foreman found Ben Southall who coolly hit Tigers 3rd to secure the points.
