Only fifteen seconds had gone in this match before Ben Malpass forced his way into the Brownhills half. With no clear support Malpass launched a speculative shot from twenty yards which nestled nicely in the keepers bottom left corner (1-0). This appeared to lift a weight off Panthers’ shoulders and they began to play with confidence and the ability which has been seen in previous weeks!
The remergence of Thomas Williamson was a major factor in Panthers improved performance. Williamson was excellent and covered every inch of the pitch. It was no surprise when he broke onto a Maplass through pass and slammed home Panthers second on 12 minutes (2-0).
Panthers were now really enjoying their football, George Bailey was sunbathing in goal, Jamie Wilson was trying to put his pyjama’s back on, Tommy Bannister was still cart-wheeling and Sam Hadwen was checking the gel in his hair!!!!
The second half started much the same as the first and it was only ever going to be Panthers who were to add to their tally. With Jack Miller-Flynn dropping in at right back and two tenacious terriers Kaine Garratt and Sam Steptoe alongside Thomas Williamson in the centre of the park, Panthers pushed for a third.
On 22minutes the ball was flung in from the left to the far post where Thomas Williamson was waiting to volley home Panthers third and his second of the match (3-0). From here on in Panthers looked to extend their lead. Both John Walters & Ben Malpass went close following some bionic throw in’s from Thomas Walters! The game ended 3-0 and three deserved points for Panthers (WELL DONE BOYS)
Final score 3-0
