The boys travelled to Holland to play in a Tournament not far from Eindhoven between Friday 18 April and Tuesday 22 April 2014.

The journey there lasted in excess of about 13-14 hours on the coach and the lads were a credit, behaving themselves impeccably despite the potential boredom of such a long journey.  However, they were kept amused by various games and quizzes that the management had thought up (with thanks to Simon Scott), which included some thrilling bingo calling from yours truly and some excellent quiz calling from Sam ‘Scotty’ Scott.

The boys played teams including Luton Town, Bromley FC, teams from Lancashire and local Dutch teams over the Saturday and Sunday.  Some brilliant football was played with the lads winning four games out of six and only being beaten narrowly by Luton Town and a brilliant Bromley FC team.

The coaches were proud of how the lads out-passed and out-classed most of the opposition including the Dutch opposition, who were surprisingly played off the park by better and more technically gifted players.  All of the lads contributed with some brilliant performances but Player of the Tournament went to Ben ‘Whizza’ Herrington who was run close for the award by Ben ‘Tank’ Maginness.  Well done lads!

The tour also included:

a visit to the PSV Eindhoven, Philips Stadion, footbal stadium to take in a reserve game during which the boys sung all of their songs including hit favourites ‘My Garden Shed’ and ‘Are you Smasher in Disguise’ .
bike races, including tandems, in the dark around the caravan complex and to and from the local town.
football chanting on the coach all the way from the caravan park to the matches with particular mention of the efforts of Louis Beesley, the resident comedian on tour and Sam ‘Scotty’ Scott who sang their hearts out throughout the weekend.

A big thank you to all those that attended the tour, especially the parents whose support in such events is critical.  A huge thank you to Jo and Ian Whitehouse, who organised the tour and spent many hours making sure the tour ran as smoothly as it did.  A big thank you also goes to our kit sponsor Fashion Factory and Tracksuit sponsor One Stop who have provided us with the finance to make sure the lads look the real deal as you will agree they do from the pictures.

Finally, a big thank you to the lads who were well behaved and produced some thrilling football!
