Panthers continued to heap the pressure on top of the table Chasetown with a hard fought win against third in the table Cannock Town Jnrs. It was a very slow start by Panthers who looked all over the place for the first fifteen minutes and quite rightly fell behind in the 17th minute after failing to clear a sloppy cross.
Falling behind certainly gave Panthers the desired kick up the backside as they raised their game an drew level after 22 minutes following a neat cross from Lewis Page which was tapped in by Ben Malpass who notched his 11th goal of the season.
Following the equaliser there was only one team who were going to finish on top as Panthers continued to surge forward and got the breakthrough on 25 minutes with Lewis Page again delivering a lobbed cross for man of the match Sam Steptoe to nod home Panthers second and his fourth of the season.
The second half saw Panthers push on and if they were more clinical they could have easily wrapped up the game within the first ten minutes of the second half with Thomas Williamson, Sam Hadwen and Ben Malpass all going close. It was Williamson who extended Panthers lead in the 40th minute following an excellent clearance by Ace Bateman which Thomas Williamson latched onto before lobbing the keeper and nodding home his 13th goal of the season.
