Panthers Under 9's Take The Lead…

A goal within the first minute from Wyrley Panthers Under 9’s?

Surely not I hear you cry….

But yes, it’s true….

As Wyrley Panthers faced Beacon Tigers at Willenhall Sports College, Louie

scored his second goal of the season for the Panthers within the first minute of the match.

With spirits high Panthers dominated the match throughout much of the first half, and with the team appearing to have really taken on board Nigel’s training tips everyone held their positions and played as a team.

With excellent defence by Harry and Damian, nothing had been pulled back by Beacon Tigers at the end of the first half.

Unfortunately as the second half wore on, the Panthers couldn’t hold on to their lead as Beacon Tigers rose to the challenge. With the final result at 5 – 1 to Beacon Tigers a good match was played by all.

For the second match of the day the Panthers faced APR. As the team had no substitutes available they started to look tired which was reflected in the score. Although only 1 – 0 down by the end of the first half, the second half saw the Panthers playing largely in their own end. With Brad making some truly remarkable saves, the Panthers got off lightly with a 4 – 0 loss.

Although all of the team played some brilliant football today, Brad made some fabulous saves & certainly deserved his man of the match title for today. Well done Brad excellent work!!

Training as usual 7pm – 8pm on Thursday at Chase Terrace Technology College.

Don’t forget Donna will be doing a car boot sale this month with all money raised going to the team. If anyone has any bric a brac they could donate, please give it to Donna or Tim.
