Wolves held onto second place in Division three despite suffering their first league defeat at Leamore Park on Sunday morning. Wolves first opponents were a Shire Oak Raiders team that appeared well organised but lacked little threat up front.
Wolves only had themselves to blame for going a goal behind on six minutes after failing to clear a number of corners which eventually saw the Raiders striker lash the ball past a helpless Jordan to give Raiders the lead. Despite going a goal behind Wolves huffed and puffed but could not find a way past an inspired Raiders goalkeeper as both Ben and Callum went close with efforts.
The second half saw a much improved Wolves take to the field as they found their fighting spirit. It came as no surprise that Wolves drew level just four minutes into the second half following a brave headed challenge by Josh which saw Ben chase down the ball and smash past the Raiders keeper.
With the game level it looked as though Wolves would go on to win as they pushed forward creating chances at will. In fairness the Raiders keeper kept Wolves at bay following marauding runs by both Cam & Jake in turn forcing great saves from the Raiders keeper.
Wolves paid the ultimate price for pressing for the winner when they lost possession in the Raiders half which left them open to the counter attack. Despite the best efforts of Regan to get back & make the tackle the Raiders forward had just too much space & time to slot home the winner.

Wolves second game saw service resume to normal as Wolves took on Great Barr Harriers. It was Wolves who looked the more composed in the early exchanges with Callum, Ed & Josh dominating the midfield and Tom adding a bit more pace in the defensive areas of the field.
It took Wolves just three minutes to take the lead following some neat feet by Ben which saw the ball break to Callum who despatched his shot into the top right hand corner. Wolves could have further extended their lead with close range efforts by both Josh & Ed forcing great saves from the Harriers goalkeeper to ensure the half time score remained 0-1.
The second half started much the same as the first had finished with Wolves well on top. Harriers never really threatened as Regan marshalled a tight defence whilst Ben always posed a threat up front. Wolves got their reward seven minutes into the second half when Jake was fouled just inside the Harriers half. From the resulting free kick Tom struck a grub hunter along the ground which fell to Callum who guided the ball over the line.
Wolves should have extended their lead with Jake and Ed going close, whilst Josh showed great technique to volley from just outside the box only to see the Harriers keeper push it wide. The last action of the game saw Jordan make a smart save at the feet of the Harriers striker to keep the Wolves goal in tact.
