Wolves kicked off their third league game of the season with a tough test against a Pelsall Villa team who had beaten them just two weeks before in the round robins. It was Wolves who took the initiative through with Ed forcing a corner following some neat build up play by Callum, Ben & Lily. The resulting corner saw Callum deliver a great corner which deflected into the back of the net to give Wolves the lead.
Having taken the lead Wolves did not sit back and continued to press for a second and nearly extended their lead with Regan almost breaking the crossbar from a free kick. Villa to their credit came back strong and forced some excellent saves fom MOTM Jordan, supported by some solid defending by Cameron & Regan at the back.
The second half showed the strength of Wolves’ squad with the introduction of Tom, Josh & Jake.Wolves again began to press with Callum making the central midfield his own back yard “By invite only” to opposing players!! It was no surprise when Wolves extended their lead following a good piece of work by Josh & Jake down the left which saw Lily bundle home a goal to give Wolves a 2-0 lead.
Wolves were caught napping with three minutes to go as a Villa pulled one back to make it a tense finish. However, it was Wolves who held their nerve to claim all three points.

Wolves’ second game was against a very physical APR team who had improved significantly since our game last season. Nevertheless, Wolves were not intimidated and continued to play their passing game.
An inspired run by Lily gave Wolves the lead after 7 minutes when she smashed home following a determined run. Wolves were further rewarded five minutes later after Callum & Ed linked up well on the edge of the box allowing Ben to steal in and slot home a second for Wolves.
It would have been easy for Wolves to switch off as they were now in total control of the game with APR becoming more and more frustrated. As the frustration amounted so did the free kicks with dead ball specialist Tom forcing two good saves from the APR keeper.
Wolves all but secured the points two minutes before the break as Regan playing in midfield delivered a wonderful throw in which Lily connected with to score her third of the day!
The second half was a half of “oh so close” as a very brave Ed playing through the pain barrier with an ear infection smashing a shot against the cross bar before little terrier Jake earned Wolves a penalty as the APR defender handled in the box. Up stepped Josh who struck the penalty well but the APR keeper was equal to it. The only danger Jordan faced in the second half was of catching a sunburn on a beautiful morning in Brownhills as Wolves topped the league!

Well done gang, get better soon Ed & be proud of yourselves!
