LICHFIELD JUNIOR YOUTH U11’s division 3
BEACON COLTS 2 v 1 WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED
First game into the new year couldn’t have been a closer one, Wyrley keen to get back into action. were the more dominant in the first half, Louie Parish putting United ahead after the first quarter of the game, Parish was unlucky to double his tally later in the half and Elliot Crook at the far post just failed to get enough on the ball to steer it goalbound. Colts were restricted to just a couple of breaks during the first half which was credit to the teamwork of the United boys. The second half and Wyrley were stunned by a excellent 10 minute purple patch for the opponents, Jack Addison who had been solid in the Wyrley goal was unlucky to be beaten at his near post for Beacons first, their second coming a few minutes later, this time the shot was hit accurately just inside the far post to give Addison no chance. Wyrley however rallied for the last quarter of this match and were unlucky not to at least get a point from the match, Tom Wheeldon and Lewis Hall just seeing their efforts somehow go wide of the target. Tom Peacock was Wyrley man of the match for his determined approach in midfield and excellent distribution of the ball.
Unlucky boys on another day this could have easily been a victory, however it wasn’t to be today, football is a fascinating team game and one to enjoy keep your heads up and lets give it the same effort next week.
