LICHFIELD JUNIOR YOUTH LEAGUE DIVISION 2 LEAGUE
MATCH REPORT 24/2/13
HOLLY LANE UNITED 3 v 1 WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED
United got back into league action today but just couldn’t quite get to their best level, much credit must go to Holly Lane who worked hard to thwart United and also maintained quite a bit of pressure on the Wyrley goal during this contest. Wyrley went one behind from a great strike from the edge of the box and had to defend well for the next quarter of an hour or so which they did well, United man of the match Elliot Crook was solid at the back, United then managed to get some pressure on the opponents goal, Lewis Hill unlucky to hit the post, but he more than made up for it a few minutes later, some good work from Sam Foreman saw the ball run into Hill’s path for United to equalise just before half-time. The second half and it was Holly Lane who were fastest out of the blocks and after a few minutes went 2-1 up, United tried hard to make an impact in the game, and could have drew level except for the fine efforts by the Holly Lane keeper. With just a few minutes left Holly Lane broke clear to secure the points, hitting their third.
