Once again the Lions were up against probably the best team in the league for a second week running. However, a very strong Brewood team started to get an early foot hold and showed why they carry a high expectation. The Lions were unlucky in that first half with two excellent efforts well saved, from Ella Spears and then from Richard Sutton. The Lions regrouped at half time and looked rejuvenated as they made a bright start to the second half. The Lions, with George Bicknell, Connor Byrne and Joshua Guest tackling hard to get the ball forward started to look the brighter team. Some half chances came and went, then two great chances went begging. One as the ball was flashed across the face of the Brewood goal by Charlie Smith. The second effort came after a good pass by Owen Lloyd to Ella Spears, who combined with Ryan Wood, to produce a cross-shot just inches wide of the post. Only a touch was needed for a Lions goal. Sandwiched in between a smart save by Aaron Clee as the Lions were nearly caught out by a Brewood break away. Well done to the lads and Ella..
