Afternoon panthers faithful.enjoying the sun today as our panthers attended the Richard sneaks World Cup tournament

MATCH 1. Wyrley panthers v four oaks bears
Early on saw four oaks using two defenders to quash the pressure applied by panthers however the pressure told and four oaks cracked by giving panthers a penalty,up stepped Ryan however the keeper saved.plenty of pressing by panthers and were caught on the counter a few times however the tracking back from all was brilliant.free kick down the left hand side to four oaks to see lukas push it past his post with his cat like reflexes.more pressure from panthers forced another penalty from four oaks and this time up stepped willo leaving the keeper no chance with the power of his strike.following the goal four oaks stepped it up but were faced with joshi who cleared his lines magnificently.next attack from panthers saw four oaks encroach into there own area giving Wyrley another penalty,up stepped Joshua who calmly slotted past the keeper for panthers second.substitutions followed with vinnie on for Richie and Rhys on for Joshua.panthers unable to clear there lines caused vinnie to step into the area giving a penalty to four oaks and four oaks to claw one back.within a minute the referee awarded four oaks another penalty which they converted to enable them to draw level.honours even with the game finishing 2-2

MATCH 2. Wyrley panthers v fc premier

From the off panthers had lots of possession with Ryan coming close from a near range effort, the fc premier keeper made save after save from the panthers strike force of Richie,Ryan,Joshua and Rhys.pass of the match was Rhys who played a wonderful cross field ball to Ryan splitting fc premier apart with the shot just hitting the side netting.fc premier keeper threw the ball out with Joshua’s sharp reflexes intercepting it and returning it with interest 1-0 panthers.tracking back in this game was immense from Richie in this game and a brilliant performance from willo for some outstanding defending ,strong and solid all game.joshua had a solo run down the left to be brought down, free kick panthers, Richie narrowly missing the target and Ryan very close on the rebound.the game finished 1-0 to panthers.

MATCH 3 Wyrley panthers v boldmere falcons fc

A very cagey edgy game this one, mostly played in the middle of the park. Rhys had a low struck effort saved by the keeper and Ryan broke free down the right to just miss the target narrowly.the boys dug in and battled extremely well in this one and both teams cancelled each other out.two mins remaining saw panthers push them back and chance after chance appeared but the ball wouldn’t fall kindly for us to convert. A frustrating match overall due to boldmere passing back to there keeper on several occasions taking the sting out of panther attacks. Game finished 0-0

SEMI FINALS Wyrley panthers v Colton fc

1 win, 2 draws saw panthers into semi finals against Colton fc.this was a scrappy game with Colton getting an early chance to hit a low shot passed our panthers keeper 1-0 Colron fc. Panthers to ther credit raised there heads brilliantly and attacked straight back with a battling run from Joshua to put the ball into the path of Rhys for a well taken goal. Score 1-1. Lots of close fought battles in all corners of the pitch with Rhys to come out of one with a solo run under pressure from two defenders showing great strength.link up play between Ryan,Joshua and Rhys at times was excellent. A new role for willo in central defence saw him with some important clearances and strong tackles throughout the game.a special mention for Richie also for his work rate in tracking back to help his team mates when needed.on a very hot and energy draining day panthers did us all proud.game finished 1-1

PENALY SHOOTOUT 3 penalties each

First penalty: Joshua to hit against the top corner but hit the post and stayed out
Colron first penalty:slotted past lukas who could do nothing about it
Second penalty: willo to hit wide of the post
Colron second :scored which lukas nearly got a hand to it but was really unlucky

On a very hot and energy zapping day to watch a group of boys give there all is such a privilege to be part of, massive thank you from Dean and Andy u made us so proud 🙂

overall man of the matches ….. Wilson cooper (aka willo)
