Wyrley Tigers v Brownhills Colts Friendly Match
The Tigers were looking to extend the current unbeaten run to nine games in this match and looked confident of doing this in the early exchanges pushing a well organised Brownhills side onto the back foot. The lads were retaining possession well and looking comfortable on the ball without causing the opposing keeper to many problems, that was until an excellent inswinging corner from Aran Poonian was met at the back post by Armaan Sohi whose fine goalscoring record continues. The second half saw the game open up with chances coming at both ends. Kian Cox then doubled the Tigers lead with a neat turn and shot from just inside the box. At this point Brownhills came back strongly and when the Tigers switched off and failed to track three runners Joe Timmins (outstanding in recent weeks) had very little chance of stopping the goal, Brownhills were back in the game. When the Tigers again lapsed by not tracking the opposition they were harshly punished with a fine strike. A good all round performance from the boys, one that should have been seen through to the final whistle. Well done lads, the run continues !

The ball spent most of the first half in and around the Silverdale penalty area, chances came and went with the Tigers passing game getting stronger as the minutes passed. Cole Askey and Scott Grosvenor-Hayes came closest to breaking the deadlock. The Tigers defence looked solid With Bradley Nutting making timely interceptions whenever called upon. The second half started with the Tigers really turning the screw. Aran Poonian was pulling the strings now and came close on three occasions. The first goal came from Joe Rodda with a drilled shot from the right side of the box flying into the far corner. Cole Askey added a second soon after with a fine curling effort which left the keeper with no chance. The Tigers were not going to surrender another lead and continued to push Silverdale back creating several chances.
