A great start to proceedings following the Lions first game since early December. Their goalkeeper was bought into action a few times before Josh Guest scored. A more confident team then started to emerge has the Lions continued to push forward. A couple of excellent chances came and went with the ‘keeper playing his part. The Scorpions came forward but the defence held up with Owen Lloyd and George Bicknell showing good skills and some excellent tackling. Connor Byrne also made some vital interventions to clear the ball from the Lions half. Ritchie Sutton continued with his tireless running and chasing; Ryan Wood contributed the positive side of the Lions play and was unlucky not to score. However, there was always a chance the opposition could back into and they did following a throw a shot deflected off Joshua Guest a bounced past Aaron Clee in the Lions goal. Not deterred the Lions, roared on by a decent following and of course by the management duo, continued to play well and had just rewards when Ella Spiers capped a great performance by scoring. A huge cheer greeted the final whistle. Well Done everyone.
