ERDINGTON LADIES 1 v 0 WYRLEY JUNIORS
After losing at home to the league leaders last week 1-0 it was the first time for Wyrley to play Erdington Ladies who currently hold the bottom spot in this division. The game started well for Wyrley and both Lucy Wells and Alicia Baker had chances to put Wyrley in front but neither managed to severely test the Erdington keeper and this first ten minutes unfortunately set the tone for the rest of this game. Erdington were limited to just three attempts on goal throughout the whole match but Erdington punished Wyrley in the first half for some slack defending to open the scoring. However hard Wyrley tried they could just not beat the Erdington Keeper, Wyrley guilty too of missing a penalty. This season at eleven a side has been quite a test for the girls but the lesson learnt today is that a good footballing team doesn’t always prevail and chances to score must be taken when they present themselves, unlucky girls not to get anything from this game. Well done ‘Hayley’ Wyrley player of the match.
