Wyrley started brightly and opened the scoring after 5 minutes with a thumping header by Cath Davis from an Emily Quimby cross. Rachel Hall slotted home the second before Laura Cumberledge scored the third from close range. Numerous chances were spurned as Wyrley declined to use their normal short passing game. Rachel scored her second, chipping the keeper from close range, before Jemma Clews slotted the ball into the far corner after a darting run.
The defence of Amy Marshall, Holly Scott, Jess Brookes and Emily Downes had little to do, with keeper Nia Jay trying hard to keep warm. Daddy’s Girl full movie
A mistake at the back gave Villa a penalty, but fortunately the resultant kick was placed wide. This should have given Wyrley a spur to kick on but despite tremendous pressure and territorial dominance, further goals were difficult to come by. Beth Crook controlled the middle. Emily Quimby scored a cracking effort into the top corner. Emily Downes finished off the scoring with a snap shot from just inside the box.
Three points in the bag but a performance improvement will be needed in the following weeks.
