Wyrley were stripped of their usual midfield four through illness, karate and FA Sports leaders attendance, which meant that 6 girls had to play out of their usual position. Despite this, they competed across the pitch with Leah Fanning making an impressive debut at left back, supporting the hard working Lottie Howells at every opportunity. Nia Jay was quick off her line on a number of occasions to thwart Coventry runs and Emily Downes was comfortable on the right.
Jess Brookes and Holly Scott coped well with the Coventry attack but were unable to stop a cracking shot from the edge of the box early in the second half to give Coventry the lead. Amy Marshall was tough in the tackle and quick on the break on numerous occasions and Jemma Clews kept the left back busy.
Nad Bunce ran her socks off, supporting Laura Cumberledge up front. As the game came to a close, Wyrley showed great desire to get something out of the game and a corner taken by Laura 10 seconds from the end broke free to Rachel Hall who smashed the ball into the back of the net to grab a deserved dramatic equaliser.
