Walsall Junior Youth League Division 1 – Sunday 18th April 2010.
Dragons came out with the intent of winning the game right from kick off. Controlling the early parts of the game Dragons passed the ball around the field better than they have done all season with the ball seemingly finding its intended player every pass. This took Shire Oak by surprise and within minutes Dragons were having a shot on goal. This type of play carried on and after four minutes Dragons got there just reward with a goal from Liam R.
That woke Shire Oak up a little as they started to get more into the game but they still couldn’t put Dragons under enough pressure for them to make any mistake. Dragons had more and more chances to extend their lead and as the half wore on both teams started to look evenly matched. Shire Oak drew level after 24 minutes playing a long ball into the box for their striker to chase and after managing to knock it past Nathan, Liam H came back to block the shot only for it to rebound to another Shire Oak player who made no mistakes in slotting the ball home. Shire Oak could of gone into the lead just before the whistle blew for half time but for the combined efforts of Tom F and Liam H keeping them at bay.
