Cougars welcomed the league leader’s on sunday & put a fantastic performance against free scoring Newcastle who had been top form lately . Cougars set their stall out early to pack the midfield & frustrate Town as much as possible but where struggling to cope with the bigger Newcastle players who where making their presence felt. Cougars did ride their luck slightly with some great on the line clearances & Cougars keeper Matty Bouliver was in fine form . As the half drew to a close Towns frustration grew & mistakes where being made. Joe Mccann who had been a thorne in the Towns defence from the first whistle put the keeper under pressure who spilled the ball to leave Joe a tap in. Cougars efforts in the first half forced some changes & Town took full advantage not letting the new players settle forcing the equalizer early in the secound half. Towns pressure paid off half way through the half taking the lead, but Cougars will roo their missed chances in each half to spoil the league leaders party , with Joe Mccann , james Bridges, Theo Briody all going close.
