Long Lane Development Update!

Things are now moving really fast!

I’m pleased to advise that Essington Parish Council formally agreed to become partners in the Football Foundation bid at their Parish Council meeting last night. The bid for £900k (which was completed after hours of work from the Committee and handed over in February) will now be forwarded by the Regional Football Foundation representatives to their Board on May 18th. We will then have a nervous wait of 2 months before we hear if it has been approved and the final piece in this jigsaw will then be in place. We would then look to start putting spades into the ground at the end of September.

After 9 years of tremendous effort from the Club (lease agreement, 2 Planning Applications, Wildlife Survey, topographical survey, flood plain assessment, 200 man days of writing business plans and grants, dozens of meetings with Staffs FA and the Football Foundation, meetings with Architects and QS, etc etc) for the benefit of 600 players, 1200 parents and 500 local residents, we have nearly acheived our aim – to make the biggest and best club in Staffordshire even bigger and better!

The vision is almost here!

Then watch us kick on!
