Dragons look to put last weeks disappointment in the quarter finals of the R.N. Crutchley Cup behind them as they played Creswell Wanderers today.
From the kick off both teams looked even with Dragons defence dealing with Cresswell as they attacked downhill. Dragons battled hard and managed to put Cresswell under pressure with Ewan, Carl and Cieran W winning the ball in midfield which in turn allowed Brandon and Tom H to feed the ball to Liam R and run at Cresswells defence. As the first half went on Cresswell started to slightly get the upper hand in the middle of the park but Dom, Liam H, Tom F and Moggy all worked hard as a unit to deny Cresswell any opportunity close on Nathans goal. Cresswell started shooting from further out and despite Nathan making some very good saves Cresswell made the breakthrough. With Cresswell scoring another 3 goals it was hard to understand how Dragons deserved to be 4 goals down at half time.
Playing downhill Dragons came out fighting in the second half making a break attacking the Cresswell goal straight away with Liam R going close forcing the keeper to make a good save. It wasn’t long before Dragons got on the Score sheet as this time Liam R slid the ball past the keeper and into the net. Ewan was next to score for Dragons as they looked to try and pull Creswell back but they scored twice more before Carl scored Dragons last goal after forcing his way straight down the middle to hit the ball past the keeper. In the end Creswell scored another 2 goals and deserved to win the game.
